Our Philosophy

Morning Star Child Development Center (CDC) provides exemplary child care for Infants through Kindergarten in a loving, clean, safe, and stimulating environment.

Morning Star Child Development Center is a ministry of Woodbridge Church of the Nazarene.  We are strongly committed to the spiritual development of children in our school. We seek to provide each child with a basic understanding of the Christian faith through Bible stories, songs, games and activities.   The following are our identified Core Values:

Love... Children will know they are loved and be taught to love God, themselves, and one another.

Children... Each child is a unique individual with God given talents and abilities and the potential to become all He created them to be. Children develop in all domains, socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually in an environment where individual abilities, strengths, needs, differences, and preferences are accepted, celebrated, and supported.

Families... We will partner with families as the primary influence in their child's lives. We can best understand the child within the context of his or her own family and we encourage family participation in all aspects of our program.

Education... Our curriculum choices and programs are rooted in and viewed through the lens of God's Word.  Our hands-on learning environment is designed with an understanding of child development, knowledge of each child's strengths, interests, and needs, and an awareness of their social and cultural uniqueness.

Staff... We value and affirm our staff as professionals providing the best possible early childhood care and education to the children entrusted to them.

2017-2018 Curriculum

ABC Jesus Loves Me is a comprehensive, research-based preschool curriculum for ages 1-5 that focuses on academics, development, and the Bible.

A Beka Curriculum capitalizes on giving children a solid foundation of basic skills through a balanced academic program that takes every facet of physical, emotional, and intellectual development into account.  As a result, parents are thrilled to discover what their children can accomplish over the course of a year.

The A Beka Program is a phonics based Christian curriculum.  When the children know how to sound out the letters it is only a matter of moments and the child is off and running and reading everything in sight. A Beka teaches the basics in counting, number recognition, and number concepts. Before and after, largest and smallest as well as addition facts. They will also count and write by twos, fives and tens. They will learn money value, telling time and number words, and number sequence.

We also cover character traits as in honor, respect, loyalty to name a few. Science, Health and Social Studies are also taught using the A Beka curricula.

Bible stories are taught daily in a variety of forms in each of the classrooms here at Morning Star Child Development Center.
